Carne Molida Con Papas
Ingredients:
- Ground beef
- Potatoes
- Magi juice
- Garlic powder
- Basil
- Rosemary
- Pili pili chili seeds
- Cayenne pepper
- Onion powder or onion
Method:
- (You can add red wine or cheese for an extra kick, it is also recommended to try with tomato puré)
- In a big bowl or pot mix the meat with all the spices mentioned and a couple dashes of the magi juice, make sure to mix it very well and let it rest while the potatoes are cooking
- Dice up the potato in small cubes, and add them in a big pan or wok with some oil, in goes the garlic powder, salt and some pepper, if you have fresh onion do not add it at the same time as the potato. Make sure you add the lid to make sure the potatoes cook the whole way through. You want to periodically open up the lid to reduce moisture and to make sure the potato doesn't overcook on one side, if you are adding onion make sure to do this process at least twice before adding it since onion cooks faster than the potato. After making sure the potato is coocked but still hard add the meat you previously prepared and break all of it up so it doesnt clump into a big meatball, this is the most important part you need to constantly mix it, when you see the meat turn Grey you can add wine and put the lid or in case you dont have wine you can deglase it wirh regular water, make sure you check the salt level as potatoes tend to over absorb the salt. At this point just wait for the wine or water to evaporate and you are done.
- In case you want to do it with cheese put it in as you are adding the lid after adding the water or wine.
- In case you are using tomatoe pure add it before the meat is fully cooked but not too soon, once you see th meat isnt clumping anymore then you add it, i do recommend pairing it with cheese for extra flavor.
- Pair it up with tortilla or tortilla chips
